Last Friday, March 4th, MPP Marie-France Lalonde was at La Cité Collégiale Trade Centre in Orléans, where she highlighted that the province is investing more than $ 2 million combined through the Apprenticeship Enhancement Fund and Pre-Apprenticeship Training programs to help the next generation of skilled tradespeople in Orléans access the training, equipment and facilities they need to prepare for the workforce.
• La Cité Collégiale is receiving funding to modernize its facilities by expanding its electrical workshop to help prepare apprentices for careers in high-demand trades.
• La Cité will also receive funding to work with local school boards to introduce Francophone women to the carpentry and roofing trades, and to help francophone youth and unemployed people begin training in plumbing and welding.
• With Ontario’s support, the Ontario Masonry Training Centre and partners the Canadian Concrete Masonry Producers Association or Canada and Brampton Brick will help youth and new Canadians begin training in the masonry trades.
